In 2000, Allen Orwick was chosen to participate in the Internal Revenue Service Practitioners Secure Messaging System (PSMS) Prototype. The purpose of this pilot program was to provide tax practitioners with an electronic means to resolve client account related issues. This project was the result of a request made by the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) in a proposal to an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Request for Agreement issued in November 1998.
In 2003 Mr. Orwick was selected as one of twenty-five North Dakotans to participate in the first North Dakota Rural Leadership Program offered through North Dakota State University's Extension Service. This program is a dynamic two-year interactive study and travel program dedicated to producing graduates with the vision and commitment to lead themselves, their organizations and communities into the future.

Allen Orwick is an associate member of the North Dakota Society of Public Accounts, a member of the National Association of Tax Practitioners and served the Northeast District of ND Licensed Public Accounts as President in 1988-89.
